No. 53 Trust issues, dating fatigue + picking the right partner with Dr. Sabrina Romanoff

Harvard-trained clinical psychologist and relationship expert Dr. Sabrina Romanoff joins the pod to help us untangle all the messy thoughts that come up when you really want love, but it’s not feeling easy. From dating apps that suck to overthinking every emotion, this conversation is a warm and wise look at how to build healthier romantic patterns—and trust yourself along the way.

We talk about:

  • Why it’s hard to trust someone even when they haven’t done anything wrong

  • Whether the butterflies mean their the one… or not

  • How to find people who actually want a serious relationship

  • Expressing your feelings without feeling like you're "too much"

  • Understanding the line between compromise and self-abandonment

This one is grounding, affirming, and informative in all the best ways.

the evergreen rx prescription

Your prescription for living well, dose for this week: Let’s shift our mindset — dating is not a chore at all, it’s an opportunity to connect with people. That’s truly it. Diversify where you are meeting people, expand beyond the apps. Meet people in spaces that are aligned with what you love. Quality relationships start with quality conversations so be present + curious with the people that are around you. Our social skills have atrophied with smart phones + the pandemic, working from home more; we are just less used to putting ourselves out there. Choose to have high engagement wherever you are in the moment coupled with low attachment to the outcome. Being fully present while keeping the pressure off what it might be will help you be more authentic. Putting yourself out there, being a beginner, making mistakes is all part of it and instead of focusing on what could/did go wrong, what might go well? 💖
